Just recognizing that
it is very easy to misunderstand wants change (or to have what you
thought was the wanted change) will improve your performance in the
organization setting and thereby improve the organization's ability to
achieve.
More importantly
recognition will lead one to take preventative and corrective action.
It is a first step. After all you will not change, if you don't
recognize there is a problem.
