The fact that organizational achievement is highly sensitive to understanding wants is established by the simulations discussed later in this text.  The fact that many groups and individuals do a poor job of understanding wants is a personal observation backed by 30 years of professional experience.  The great extent to which so many methodologies deal with requirements development, tracking, and tracing tells me that a lot of other people share this observation.  However, these methodologies miss the fundamental point that requirements are not wants.  I have identified seven obstacles let's examine each one.  After that I will examine how to overcome them.
