I will start from the position that there is an external reality.  Some people do not accept this.  The belief in that meme is very hard to change.  If you do not accept that there is a reality external to your own individual consciousness, then I suggest you go away.  I have no desire to enter a fruitless debate or try and convince you otherwise.

Who decides which memes are faulty beliefs? Some will suggest science.  I reject this.  I do maintain that the scientific approach is the best technique for sorting out what is right and what is wrong.  However, I hold that organizations do nothing and must also maintain that the science does nothing.  Only people can do things.  Therefore only people can decide what is correct and what is wrong.  So back to the question, “Who decides?”.   Shall we use a democratic vote? Shall we only allow scientists to vote? Shall we only allow political rulers, or corporate CEOs to vote? Sometimes what may seem a very difficult question has a very simple answer.  There is only one person who can decide fact from fiction, right from wrong.  There is only one person who can determine faulty belief from a useful tentative belief.  You! Think about it.  There is no alternative.

I hope you accept the responsibility seriously.
