Each of the above
motivation theorists has some valid points. They provide some useful
guidance that will be applied when I write specific want satisfaction
dynamic equations in the simulations. But, in general the most important
issue is to recognize the small number of biobehavioral wants as the
basis of all motivation.
I need to insert biobehavior wants per J.D.
Glass and ask if they are complete. I think they are not.
The most
powerful drive in the ascent of man is his pleasure in his own skill.
He loves to do what he does well and, having done it well, he loves to
do it better.

Figure 6.1: Comic
on Stimulation
- - Taken from the San Francisco Chronicle - -
Perhaps, wants result
from the nature of the brain to be active, constantly seeking
stimulation, and the combination of learned behaviors. From this
perspective some of the temperament parameters can be seen as a measure
of the extent to which a person is motivated to seek the stimulation of
social interaction and personal growth.
A broad historical
review across time and culture tend to indicate that some of
motivational memes change, implying that the motivation structure of an
individual within a group context is an evolving structure, and is in
part learned.
